celtx script App Reviews

I personally use Celtx all the time for screenplays, but I have noticed two major problems with the current update of this app. First of all, it keeps asking me to login when I have already logged in before. Second, it fails to sync the edits I have made. When I bring up a recent edit that I had previously edited on the computer, it shows an older edit and the old edit replaces my newer edit. Why would I have to waste my time trying to get the screenplay back to the way it was? The sync issue is the biggest problem.

Someone recommended this app to me and after several attempts I need to drop it. The app has crashed on me several times in the middle of writing, constantly requests me to sign in again, and impossible to create a title page. Cmon, this is basic for a screenplay

Ive decided that the "remember login" setting is just for decoration. Im currently collaborating on a script, and Ill be two pages in until I realize that my script is not syncing to the cloud. And unfortunately, my login is my school email address, and it is 27 characters long. If Celtx could keep me logged in, thatd be great, but if it would at least remember my account name, thatd be a great time saver.

I love this app, its super easy to use and free. The scripts are beautiful, and you dont need any experience: it formats for you. 10/10 would recommend.

My review disappeared. Yes. It dis-app-ear-ed. Maybe its because I had a good idea on how to write a script. I wont bother to redo my review.

This app is exactly what I needed. Ive always resisted the tedious formatting rules of the screenplay. Now I can breeze right through them and focus on the writing. Im writing a future Oscar winner. Bank on it. You heard it here first.

The sync process it delicate... It can potentially easing a whole nights work if you rotate between devices... Couldnt believe they were trying to charge for this before!! Hahaha what a joke!

Awesome App, I remember paying for it a while back for my iPad, I use it daily. Now uploaded to my iPhone for free, also on all of my computers. Brilliant software, easy to use, awesome accessibility.

Ive been using the app on my iPad for a while now. I had to pay for it, which makes this even more frustrating. If all I do on my iPad is write, everythings fine. If I leave to go to a different screen, even for a second, the app crashes when I return. No content lost yet, but I feel like Ive been lucky. Also, Id love to be able to share a Celtx file with people, not just a pdf. Also, there are a number of features that are only available on the website. The lay out of scripts on the app is very hard to navigate. Its just a big mess and you cant search or organize. Great if you just need to write real fast. Bad if youre working a lot and arent always connected to the internet.

I have been using for the program on my computer for almost a decade and its amazing. But, oh man this app is almost the worse than loosing your virginity to a porcupine. Its tedious and hard to use. Firstly you can not open a file if its not from the app. I try to open files that I send to myself or files sent from my writing team and it never opens them. I would love the option to open a file sent through email because we can not all use the cloud. Speaking of the cloud, I can never open anything saved on my cloud. I saved a script on the cloud from my computer and went to a production meeting and could not open the script on my iPad. It just was useless. Its not great for travel either. I was on a flight hoping to get some work in and I started a new script it was great and probably a good start to something bigger. When I got back to my office I tried to email myself the script but I could not send it as a .celtx format. I love everything else about the app. Writing clean and new scripts is super easy. But, with it being a paid app I expect something a little more than something that I could get for free. I want to support the development of a great program and thats why I want continue to use it.

All the Celtx versions, iPad, iPhone and Mac versions need an update. They have glaring bugs. Every sentence defaults to one space and then indents sentences in paragraphs strangely. Cant add or include the title page on iPad or iPhone. Theres no list of characters. Lack of many settings.

Great app but badly needs updating. Ability to have folders to keep things organized. Been getting sync errors after deleting files. Hope this app gets a fresh look for the new ios.

I havent even started using the app and already Im irritated. I have to sign up for an account if I want to use cloud storage -- why? Why cant I just save my files in iCloud like I do with every other app? Oh, wait, I know -- its so they can send me a bunch of emails. Because if theres one thing I need, its more emails. Two stars because I didnt think it would be fair to give one star without actually trying the app. Or, if you prefer, I subtracted a star for having to create an account, and one star for each annoying email I received before I unsubscribed. At least in subscribing was easy.

I really like this app, its been easy and fun to use.

I absolutely love this app. Ive been using Celtx on the computer for about a year now and absolutely love it. Recently Ive been looking for a way to write scripts on my phone without the weird format of their mobile site - which makes this great. It syncs with my account so I can be writing on my phone, save, open my computer, and keep writing wherever I left off. Fantastic. I have only one complaint - the margins on this app are slightly larger than the website, meaning that the app says I have written more pages than I actually have once I go to the computer. Everything else looks exactly the same, its just this one issue.

I have not found a way to upload screenplays I did in Celtx a few years ago. I am using an iPad Air 2. But I can write in it, and thats cool for now. After all it was free

This app is great for when I write videos. Every filmmaker or youtuber should get this app.

If you own Celtx for the pc or not, this app is sure to get you started in the right direction! Ive used this since I started writing screenplays and scripts. Its never let me down!
